Michel Darling is a Ukrainian-American artist working with metal sculpture and cultural research to address the everyday as a form of art. Despite globalization, the relationship between humanity and metallurgy remains in tact & ancient. Resources are always in flux, taking the form of swords, reliquaries, toaster ovens, carriage wheels, teapots, computer chips: metal becomes a chimera that holds all human history in its molecular memory. Darling is interested only in the transmutation of matter that occur in the industrial, pedestrian, and daily life we perform.
