Michel Darling is a Ukrainian-American artist working with sculpture and image to address the everyday as a form of art. Despite globalization, the relationship between humanity and ancient metallurgy remain in tact. Resources are always in flux, taking the form of swords, toaster ovens, wheels, machinery, computer chips: metal becomes a chimera that holds all human history in its molecular memory. Darling is interested only in the transmutation of matter that occur in the daily life we perform.
